LEGACY.  Geo. A. Rhoten, David Rhoten's father, established his law practice in downtown Salem, Oregon, in 1927.  Geo. Rhoten's brother, J. Ray Rhoten, and Sam F. Speerstra later joined the firm and it became Rhoten, Rhoten & Speerstra.  When David Rhoten was deemed old enough, the firm had him working in the office, and later during his Willamette University studies as a Law Clerk. 

After over 25 years with Rhoten, Rhoten & Speerstra, David continued his practice with William G. ("Bill") Paulus (and Oregon Secretary of State Norma Paulus "of counsel"). 

In 1985, Lawrence W. Andrews became a Law Clerk, and then a Lawyer in the firm in 1987.  

​David Rhoten passed away in 2017 after 56 years of practice.
